I don’t like to get in a rut when it comes to makeup choices, shampoo, perfume, facial masks, or even lotions. I love trying new things and branching out. You’ll find me subscribing to Sephora Play boxes just to try and discover new things monthly. Fun fun! Today, however, I’m sharing the exceptions to my ever-rotating beauty products. These are things I MUST ALWAYS have around and available. I don’t even use them every day, but I always come back to them!
1. Kerastase Bain Force Architecte
I can seriously tell the difference when I don’t use it. My hair is very fine and very damaged from highlighting, etc. This stuff keeps it afloat. The best part is the faux proteins it has that won’t build up and cause breakage. Did you know too much protein for your hair is a bad thing? When proteins build up on your hair it makes it heavy and eventually the strands will begin to snap. Yikes. With Kerastase, you get the strength of a protein shampoo without the threat of consequence. These are things I’ve learned from professional hairdressers! (Also, you can find this cheaper on Amazon)
2. Sol De Janiero Bum Bum Cream
Despite the name, I use it almost anywhere on my body. My feet love it, my legs love it, I’ve even used it on my face and it didn’t cause me to break out (which is honestly a miracle). It smells amazing, but it does stay with you most of the day. So if you’re a person who is bothered by lingering scents, you’ve been warned! I don’t think it really does much to “tighten”, but it is a heavy moisturizer. A little dab goes a long way.
3. Hard Candy Hydrating Primer Mist
I love this. I use it for an extra burst of moisture during the day (on top of my makeup). It’s a very fine mist, so it won’t cause your makeup to run. Note, this is not a setting spray. It’s just extra hydration. And it definitely does that! It is like a fresh burst of rain on the desert that is my dry, foundation-coated face.
4. Viktor & Rolf BONBON
This perfume is my new staple. A fruity floral (which I normally run far away from) with notes of Caramel, Mandarin, and Orange Blossom. It’s subtle yet makes a statement. I was lucky enough to get a 1 oz bottle for free as part of a Sephora promo code deal… I don’t know what I’m going to do when it runs out because it’s regularly priced way above what I would want to pay for a scent.
